Anti-Bullying Policy
Orli International Academy is committed to providing a safe,
inclusive, and respectful learning environment for all learners, free from any
form of bullying or harassment. Bullying undermines our core values of respect,
empathy, and integrity, and has no place within our school community.
Therefore, the following policy outlines our commitment to preventing and
addressing bullying incidents:
Definition of Bullying:
Bullying is defined
as any deliberate, repetitive act or behavior, whether verbal, physical, or
psychological, that is intended to intimidate, harm, or exert power over
another individual or group. This includes, but is not limited to, teasing,
name-calling, spreading rumors, physical aggression, exclusion, cyberbullying,
and any other behavior that creates a hostile or threatening environment.
Prevention:
Orli International
Academy is committed to proactive measures to prevent bullying. We will:
- Educate learners,
staff, and parents about the importance of respect, empathy, and acceptance
through curriculum integration, workshops, and community outreach.
- Foster a culture
of inclusivity and tolerance where differences are celebrated and bullying is
not tolerated.
- Provide resources
and support systems for learners who may be experiencing bullying or witnessing
bullying behaviors.
- Encourage open
communication and active participation from learners, parents, and staff in
identifying and addressing bullying incidents.
Reporting and Response:
Any member of the
Orli International Academy community who witnesses or experiences bullying is
encouraged to report the incident promptly and confidentially to a teacher,
counselor, administrator, or other trusted adult. Reports can also be made
anonymously through designated channels.
Upon receiving a
report of bullying, the school will:
- Take all reports
of bullying seriously and investigate them promptly and thoroughly, respecting
the privacy and confidentiality of all parties involved.
- Provide support
and assistance to the victim(s) of bullying, including counseling, mediation,
and conflict resolution strategies.
- Implement
appropriate disciplinary measures for the perpetrator(s) of bullying, in
accordance with school policies and procedures, which may include counseling,
suspension, or expulsion, depending on the severity and recurrence of the
behavior.
- Communicate
openly and transparently with all parties involved, including parents, to
ensure accountability and promote understanding of the consequences of
bullying.
Support and Follow-Up:
Orli International
Academy is committed to providing ongoing support and follow-up to ensure the
well-being and safety of all learners involved in bullying incidents. This may
include:
- Continued
monitoring and intervention to prevent further incidents of bullying.
- Counseling and
support services for both the victim(s) and perpetrator(s) of bullying to
address underlying issues and promote empathy, understanding, and positive
behavior change.
- Collaboration
with external agencies and community resources, as needed, to provide
additional support and intervention.
By implementing and upholding this anti-bullying
policy, Orli International Academy reaffirms its dedication to fostering a
school culture that values respect, empathy, and kindness, and empowers all learners
to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
